Today I found out that I have enough PowerUp Rewards points for a $20 coupon off used games.
...why the fuck do so many people hate this store chain again?
"baaaaaw i trade in five ps2 games and only get a couple bucks." The price of aging games lowers naturally (unless they're super rare, and/or there's more demand.) Don't complain when a used game store notices these trends and you don't.
I covered the full costs of Gravity Rush and part of MGSHD Vita with trade-ins of games I don't play anymore. And I also get PowerUp Rewards points for doing it, which culminates into me being able to buy a $20 used game. You don't complain when you find a game that's dirt cheap, do you? Why, that's less money for the poor store owner to feed his family with!
Sure, the "remove online codes from new Deus Ex 3 boxes" was a bad business move, but hey, they handed out $50 gift cards for people who bought the game to make amends. That is totally not evil.

I think people are more concerned with the area of "Return a new game for $15 and they stick it on the shelf for $50" or some shit. I don't buy games in-store any more anyway unless my eye catches something. Fuck, I don't even buy games any more. I'll be straight here, games cost too much for me to want to buy them. I'm not exactly poor, but I'm not well off enough to want to pay £60 for a shitty game that's hardly been bug tested, laden with glitches and is potentially NOT FUN. PS2 era had that shit down. I spend £20-£30 that's a risk worth taking. I'm going to buy the game, and if it's not good, I'm not particularly feeling at a loss because I've only spent £30, tops. I may not even take it back to get a full cash return. But if I'm not willing to risk £60 on a game with a one year development cycle that's had little bug testing and doesn't have any real promise of being any fun. I know it "TAKES MORE TO DEVELOP GAMES NOWADAYS" but fuck, that should mean games should be more. Then there's the £15 release DLC, which gives you shit you should have had anyway because you just payed 60 - fucking - pounds for it.
And then if that game turns out to BE bad, and it's just had marketing up the ass? I go to gamestop and get only £20 back for that? No. That's not happening.
(I should add, every god damn game I've bought this generation has been either glitychy, substandard or incredibly disappointing, so I'm scared to buy anything.)
I just feel the need to say that Sonic 4 Episode II is awful. No seriously, Sonic 4 Ep1 was much better. SEGA fucked the game up even more than it already was with this new Tails co-op bullshit. Please, anyone reading this, don't waste your money. 15 dollars for that piece of shit is outrageous.

I liked Episode 1. That said, I'm willing to admit it does has its fair share of problems, but I still found it enjoyable. Episode 2, however just completely fucked it all up. You fixed the physics? That's cool, but why are the controls slippery? Why do you have to slow down a SPEED BASED GAME with dumb gimmicks like Sonic x Tails obstacles that HALT YOUR SPEED AND BREAK THE FLOW OF THE GAMEPLAY?
I'm not even one of those elitist Sonic fans that constantly bitches. It's just so poorly designed that it makes even a causal fan like me upset.
FUCK EPISODE 2

GAMESTOPS BAD BECAUSE INTERNET SAYS SO. People feel they can get more by selling it online than returning. you know... where everyones selling the game and theirs a slight chance some one might trust bying a used game online and even then the chance some one will choose to buy theres. I like gamestop. I can sell a game there and KNOW ill get money for it and i can buy a used game and return it within 7 days for a full refund. Like a library and that came in handy ALOT for me.

The only games I feel confident about buying are GTA5 simply because GTAgame and maybe Rising if I can't be illegal about it or feel generous. The reason most games nowadays are sequels is because people like me will only by sequels because of quality assurance of the first game (that's never fucking met). This is a problem caused by the games industry wanting more money, then looking at sales figures to see what got them the most money, instead of making a new game that's decently priced.
As someone who has worked for Gamestop I can say that they pull some fairly shady shit and treat their employees like a bag of fuck.
That being said, there existence isn't bad, I just prefer not to trade games to them anymore. I can get better deals elsewhere. And their used shit can be good, but I can usually find things for cheaper off Amazon. I mostly just pre-order new games from them now because I like midnight launches.
I rock out with my cock out. I get heinous with my peinus. I hang out with my wang out. And it's just insainous.
I've got a mighty dick. So you'd better watch out. Because I'm twice as quick. And I've got my crotch out.
